Catching up

Goodness hasn't time flown! It doesn't seem five minutes since the beginning of April and now May is round the corner.

We had a fab break at Easter, I combined the bank hols with a few days off and we bummed around for a bit taking the opportunity to visit one or two places.

I have wanted to visit Stonehenge for such a long time. The last time I went was in the 70's - in those days you could clamber all over the stones. These days you have to admire from afar. I was shocked how small it was - don't get me wrong it's a fantastic monument but I had remembered it as much larger (OK I was much smaller in the 70's!!)

We also took the opportunity to visit Raglan Castle - it is amazing we have such fantastic places on our doorstep and we never see them. We followed it up with a delicious lunch in The Bear in Crickhowell - recommended!

Yippee! Spring Holidays

Another excellent retreat draws to an end, Crickhowell was beautiful, the food was great, the company fun, and plenty of shoppng too! I enjoyed all the classes I took, but as usual did very little scrapping of my own - where does the time go?

I did take some time out to walk round the Manor Hotel...look what I found!

Signs of Spring

Spring is sprung...at last! After weeks of freezing cold weather which I thought would never end, Spring has finally arrived. It is fantastic to see the flowers in bloom again. There are however three rather strange plants emerging from the cold ground. I have no idea what they are - though I am sure we planted them last year. Time will tell no doubt!
We decided to pay a visit to Southerndown beach this morning. The wind was whipping up a treat. I have never seen the sea that rough at Southerndown. Which made me feel all the more sorry for the poor souls on the river for the boat race. Poor Cambridge - lost again!

Just chillin'

We have friends staying this weekend, the 'boys' are spending the day in the local hostelry and I have been doing not a lot. I am trying to avoid the feeling of guilt that I am not doing 'something' by pretending to be busy. I have sent several hours on the internet this afternoon, and I am just off to finish my entry in the Christmas CJ. Found a great website with lots of useful scrapping advice at http://www.scrap-poodle.com/scrapmentor.asp - worth a look for design tips and some great links to LO sketches.

Neil was so funny last night. Not that I would encourage binge drinking because I hate it if he drinks too much but it is fun to get him to do silly stuff when he is a bit more than tipsy. I was persuading him to test how drunk he was with a series of tasks. He managed to do the pigeon step walk without difficulty and he had no trouble touching the end of his nose with his finger, but he could not stand on one leg to save his life and when he collapsed in a heap over the bedside cabinet I was absolutley weak! Now that picture would have been worth scrapping!!
